Set Your Clocks to... SLEEP!

Feeling extra sleepy this week? Of course you are, we just lost an hour of the most precious and restorative thing our bodies need most…


Ironically, I am writing this on what is known as “Sleepy Monday,” a day known for its sleep deprivation effects on almost everybody due to daylight savings time (so forgive me if I ramble).

Sleepy Monday was a term coined by a business professor at the University of Washington, Christopher Barnes. In this piece, Barnes explained how “the Monday after we set out clocks forward is the one time of year when most Americans consistently don’t get enough sleep.”

Now, couple that chunk of news with the fact that most of us are not sleeping enough to begin with, have little ones at home that wake through the night, or are just too stressed to destress properly.

The result?

As per Barnes, sleeplessness is making us lazy, moody, and dangerous.
